I've got an HP LaserJet MFP M436dn, and I'm having a tough time getting it connected to my network. When I hook it up to my router, the Ethernet lights don't even turn on. I tried setting the printer to a static IP and set it to 10Mbps full, and then the lights come on, but no software for scanning detects it—only a network scanner sees it. My router setup involves a Tenda AC8 that's connected wirelessly to my neighbor's WiFi, and I'm also using a TP-Link 740N as an access point. I first tried hooking up the printer through a socket in my wall, but that didn't work either. I even reset the TP-Link and connected the printer without internet, yet it still wouldn't connect. However, when I connect the printer directly to my laptop using Ethernet at 10Mbps full and set static IP for both, everything works perfectly, including printing and accessing the Embedded Web Server. Anyone have any advice?

It sounds like your network might not be routing traffic correctly to the printer. It’s good that your printer works when directly connected to your laptop. Have you considered letting the printer negotiate its speed instead of forcing it to 10Mbps? Also, using DHCP might be better than a static IP since you mentioned it’s giving you a 169.x.x.x IP address, which typically means it’s not getting a valid IP. Could you share a diagram of your network setup? That would help in figuring out where things might be going wrong.
It seems like you might be having issues with your Tenda router configuration. Since it's connected wirelessly to your neighbor's internet, that could be causing some routing issues. You mentioned the TP-Link is set up without DHCP, which is good, but make sure the Tenda router is properly set as a WISP and not a repeater. That can sometimes mess things up. Can you check the network settings from the printer? It would help to see what IP it’s trying to use in both DHCP and static configurations.
