Trouble Connecting to Wi-Fi After Long Period of Not Using My MacBook

I recently turned on my MacBook after not using it for several months, and I've run into a couple of issues. Firstly, the time zone is incorrect, and I've had to change it manually before switching back to automatic. More importantly, I can't connect to any Wi-Fi networks or hotspots. When I try to connect, it asks for a WPA2 key, but it doesn't work when I enter it. To make matters worse, I'm unable to perform a software update without internet access. Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

It's important to manually set the date and time first. Once that's done, try updating your Mac to see if that resolves the Wi-Fi issue. Sometimes, the connection problems stem from incorrect time settings.

I've already updated the time; it’s correct now. But I'm still not able to connect to Wi-Fi or perform a software update.

If nothing else works, consider doing a factory reset. It might sound drastic, but it can resolve connection problems.

I’d prefer to reset just the Wi-Fi settings or the network. How can I do that without resetting everything else?
