Trouble Installing LMDE6 on My HP Laptop

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble installing LMDE6 on my HP Probook 640 G1. I'm trying to do a single boot installation from a USB drive, as I only want to run LMDE6 without Windows. The installation seems to go fine, but after I reboot, I get a 'no bootable device' error. I've made sure that secure boot is off, and I have three options in the BIOS: Legacy, UEFI with CSM, and UEFI without CSM. I've tried all of them but I'm still stuck. Any help would be awesome!

Have you checked the sha256sum of your ISO file? Sometimes, a corrupted download can cause booting issues. It’s a quick check that could save you a lot of time!

I hadn't checked that! I just verified it and it’s valid. Thanks for the help!

Also, I found some installation tips that might be useful for you! Always connect via ethernet if you can, and remember to remove the USB stick after the installation. It might seem simple, but it can make a difference. Good luck!

Sounds like you're not alone with that issue on your HP model! I’d suggest checking the SATA configuration in the BIOS and setting it to AHCI. Also, make sure to disable TPM if it's enabled. That might just do the trick!

Thanks for the tip! I haven't tried that yet, but I will give it a shot.
