I'm having a rough time trying to install Ubuntu Server on one of my hard drives. After it creates the partition, the installer hard crashes and prompts me to restart. I've tried several times and even attempted installing the regular version of Ubuntu, but it keeps crashing. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

The way you created your installer USB could be causing problems. Some users have issues with tools like Rufus or Etcher on Windows, but Ventoy seems to work better. Also, make sure to verify your ISO before copying it to the USB. What's the make and model of your server? Any unusual hardware or RAID controllers in use? I've installed Ubuntu countless times without issues, so it's likely something specific to your setup.
Fedora might be a better option, too. It's got a good reputation for being solid during installations, just my two cents!
You should check if the hard drive is functioning properly. It might be worth running a long self-test or even zeroing the drive using `dd` to see if there are any faults with it.
If you're still struggling, maybe consider trying out Tuxedo instead of Ubuntu. I’ve found it a tad more robust when it comes to installations, especially for partitioning without wiping the drive.
Definitely check that. I had a similar problem because of a weird hardware setup.
