Trouble Installing Windows 11 on a Laptop Previously Owned by an Organization

I was trying to wipe my laptop and do a fresh installation of Windows 11 25H2, but I ran into a snag early on. I was prompted to log in with my email address and found out that it was linked to some organization, specifically Thomson Reuters, which it said I didn't belong to. This stop prevented me from completing the installation. Interestingly, I had no issues installing Windows 11 from scratch on three older Dell laptops just yesterday. So, what's going on with my higher-end laptop? How can I successfully install Windows 11 on it?

It sounds like your laptop might have been previously managed by a company. Do you know if it was a work laptop? If you bought it used, that could explain why you're getting this issue. Often, devices that were owned by organizations are managed with tools like Microsoft Intune, which restricts installation unless they're properly released by the original owner.

This definitely sounds like something related to the BIOS settings or device management from the previous owner. If you have proof of purchase, I’d recommend reaching out to the seller or even Thomson Reuters directly. They may be able to help clear the device for personal use. It's a shame buying a used laptop can lead to such trouble!
