I just put together my new PC, and I'm trying to install Windows 11 using a USB key I purchased. It shows signs of booting up, but then the display goes out and I can't figure out why. What could be going wrong?

Shouldn’t it be faster to boot up? It seems like it’s taking way too long.

Have you tried to access the BIOS at all? That’s usually the first step to check if everything is set up correctly.

Make sure you’ve set the USB as the first boot device in your BIOS settings. That’s crucial for the installation to start.

Is your system booting up without the USB connected? Also, could you share your full specs? It might help to identify the issue.

Yes, I can get into the BIOS, and I even updated it, thinking that might help. I’m using an MSI B550 Pro motherboard.

Instead of setting USB as the first boot device, just use the boot menu by pressing F8 when you power it up. Also, ensure that UEFI, secure boot, and TPM are enabled, and CSM legacy boot is turned off. If it still fails, consider remaking the Windows installer. Download the ISO and use RUFUS to create it—it’ll give you more options.
