Trouble Joining New Domain Controller – Missing SRV Records?

I'm having a bit of a headache trying to join a new domain controller (DC) to my current domain. The promotion process keeps failing, indicating it can't find the domain. I've run DCDiag on my existing DC, and all the DNS tests come back fine. However, when I run DCDiag from a different workstation that's already part of the domain, I see a bunch of missing SRV records, even though I can spot those records in DNS. What could be going wrong here?

Have you checked if your new DC is querying the correct DNS service? Sometimes, a DC or DNS server might end up forwarding requests to the ISP's DNS instead of using your internal one. Just to be sure, make sure your new DC has a static IP set, and double-check that it's pointing to the existing DC for DNS. Also, ensure it’s in the same subnet and there aren't any firewall rules obstructing the connection. Are you accidentally going out over WAN? That could mess things up.

Yeah, I'm on the same network and VLAN as the existing DC, and I've set the new DC to point at the current one for DNS. But when I run DCDiag from my admin machine, I still see those SRV record errors. The same command works fine when I run it directly on the existing DC. I'm really puzzled!
