Hey everyone,
I'm having a serious issue accessing our Amazon AWS account due to a new mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) process. The problem is that my account's phone number on file is a landline, and I can't receive the verification code.
I've already submitted a support request online, but I'm hoping to get some advice here as I'm really worried. The application reliant on AWS is critical for our company, and I need to find a solution ASAP. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Steve

Have you considered porting your landline to a VoIP service? It could help you bypass the issue with the MFA requirements if you get a mobile number.
Just wanted to say thank you to Thomas! Got some great advice from everyone here!
Hi Steve,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Just a heads-up, you can contact the MFA team directly without needing to log in by using this contact form: http://go.aws/contact-mfa. They'll generate a case ID for you via email, and that will get the ball rolling. Unfortunately, we can’t fix this issue from here, but that form will connect you with the right people. For more info, check out: http://go.aws/lost-broken-mfa.
Hey, I totally understand your frustration! Depending on where you're located, you might be able to grab a prepaid cell phone for about $30. Many places also offer prepaid SIM cards if you just need the phone number.
If that's not an option, is there anyone in upper management with a personal phone you could use temporarily? It's super important to keep access to AWS, so make it work if you can!
Thanks, Thomas! I've sent a message through that form.
