I'm having a frustrating issue where I can't log into my Fedora machine if my second monitor is connected. When I boot up with the HDMI cable plugged in, I get stuck on the password screen. If I disconnect the cable, I can enter my password and access the KDE desktop, but as soon as I reconnect the HDMI, it kicks me back to the login screen. I'm using Fedora 43 on a Lenovo Legion 5 with an Intel Core i7 and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

It definitely sounds like KDE is crashing when you plug in the second monitor, which is why you're getting kicked back to the login screen. This issue might be related to a conflict between NVIDIA graphics and Wayland when using multiple displays. You could try enabling NVIDIA KMS in your boot options with this command: `sudo grubby --update-kernel=ALL --args="nvidia-drm.modeset=1"` and then reboot. If that doesn't help, consider switching to the x11 version of Plasma, which seems to work better for some folks in similar situations.
If the NVIDIA KMS command didn't do the trick for you, you've got a couple of alternatives. Some users have had luck by disabling the integrated GPU or switching to a single GPU setup in BIOS, but you've mentioned that didn't work for you. Keep options open, and if possible, check for any driver updates or try a different display manager. Switching to x11 could be a solid workaround until everything works smoothly.
