Trouble with Ethernet Connection and DHCP Error on New PC

I've recently built a new PC using a Gigabyte X870 WiFi7 Auros Elite Motherboard and I'm having a frustrating issue with my Ethernet connection. I'm running a realtek PCIe 2.5GbE adapter and connecting through a TP Link Powerline setup to my router. Everything was working fine until recently when I noticed my PC was offline. My phone and other devices connect without problems, but my computer shows a DHCP cannot be found message. I've tried a variety of troubleshooting steps, including restarting the router and computer, resetting network settings, reinstalling drivers, and adjusting permissions in the registry. Despite these efforts, nothing seems to work. I'm considering options like connecting directly to the router or using a USB Wi-Fi dongle. Has anyone else run into this issue, and what solutions do you suggest?

Using a USB Wi-Fi dongle could be a good solution if you're in a pinch, especially since you mentioned you might need to run a long Ethernet cable. Sometimes just a little extra hardware can bypass these issues until you get your Ethernet sorted. Plus, they're not too expensive!

True, I've been eyeing a couple of those. Might be worth the investment for now.

If you're still having access issues, make sure that the port on the PC isn’t damaged. It can be strange for it to suddenly stop working, but it’s not impossible, so try plugging in a different cable or checking the physical connection points if you can.

I'm suspicious about the port, too. It did work perfectly before all this started. I'll check the cables and connections.

You might want to try creating a Linux USB boot stick to check if the Ethernet works outside of Windows. If it does, then the issue is definitely Windows-related. Also, make sure to log into your router to confirm that DHCP is enabled and check what devices are connected. That might give you some insight into what's happening.

Yeah, I didn't even think to check DHCP settings on the router. I’ll give that a shot as soon as I can.
