I'm having some serious issues with my PC lately. It's running a 3080 GPU paired with a 5800x3d CPU on an Asrock b450m pro 4 motherboard. Recently, it started turning off unexpectedly, and now it won't stay on for more than about four minutes at a time. Sometimes the RGB lights turn off completely, and other times they stay on while the rest of the system shuts down. I thought it might be the power supply, so I just installed a new 850w PSU, but that didn't solve the problem. I also reapplied thermal paste to both the GPU and CPU, but it continues to shut off. Any ideas on what might be going on?

Try taking the motherboard out of the case altogether. Install the GPU and power it up using a screwdriver to short the power button pins. If it works outside the case, the issue might be with the case itself or the power/reset buttons causing a short.
First off, make sure to check your temps. Sometimes, overheating can cause issues like that, even with new thermal paste. It’d help to monitor your CPU, GPU, and RAM temperatures using something like Open Hardware Monitor, if you can keep the system running for a bit.
I had a similar issue before. Double-check for any misplaced standoffs or potential shorts on the back of the motherboard. Those can definitely cause random shutdowns.
You're saying it started because of the thermal paste change? It could still be that something isn't seated properly, so check all your connections again. Sometimes it's the simplest things that cause the biggest headaches.

Yeah, I tried that once, but it shut down before I could even get a read. It's super frustrating!
