I'm trying to access a company computer from an employee's personal device, but I'm running into a "login attempt failed" error. I always connect through the VPN to the company's network, enter the machine's IP address, and use the correct login credentials. This setup usually works for everyone else, but it's only this particular machine that's causing issues. The computer runs on Windows 10 Home and doesn't have the Wi-Fi driver installed, which I can't seem to fix. The employee previously worked from home with a USB antenna that has since broken. Now, she's directly connecting via a network cable from the router, but she encountered an issue with incorrect credentials while at home. I connected the machine to the internet using my phone's cable today, but I'm still facing the login failure. Can anyone help me figure out what might be wrong and how to fix it?

It sounds like the user's credentials might be locked out or expired. Have you checked if they were removed from any necessary security groups that allow VPN access? That’s a common issue with login failures.
You might want to try using the Windows app for remote desktop instead of the standard RDP. I’ve heard it can sometimes help with connectivity issues.
Unfortunately, I have regulations that require me to stick with the traditional remote desktop connection.

I checked that and everything looks good. Permissions are all set properly.
