Hey everyone, I recently got a new HP Victus r1088nt and set it up with Windows 11. After playing around a bit, I decided to switch to Windows 10. The good news is that my Wi-Fi and Ethernet cable seem to work fine, and the Ethernet port should be good too. But here's the frustrating part: I'm currently taking summer classes at Middle East Technical University and staying in the 8th dormitory. The school provided a guide for connecting to the wired network, and I followed all the steps, including registering my MAC address and tweaking DNS and IP settings. Despite all this, I'm still not getting internet access. I even tried a different Ethernet port in a friend's room, and his connection worked perfectly. I've checked my computer for any issues, and I've included some Turkish screenshots for context. I'm out of ideas; should I contact HP support or change some settings? Any help would be greatly appreciated before I lose my mind!

Just a thought: could it be that the MAC authorization is still pending? Sometimes it can take a while, and if the system says it should be instant, then maybe there was a hiccup on their end. Keep an eye on it and maybe check in with your school’s IT department.
Have you checked if there was a power surge or lightning recently? Sometimes that can blow out the Ethernet port. If you’re sure you set everything up right, it might be worth grabbing a USB to Ethernet adapter as a workaround since they’re pretty cheap.
It might take some time for the school to authorize your MAC address. If you can log into their site and register your MAC, then your network interface card (NIC) is likely fine. Double-check the settings you changed to ensure they match what's in the guide.
