Troubleshooting Excel Crashes in RDS with Ivanti Workspace

Hey everyone! I'm facing an issue with Excel crashing whenever a specific user tries to save files to their home folder on a network share. This is happening in an RDS environment running on Server 2022 with Ivanti Workspace Manager. Oddly enough, there are no errors showing up in Event Viewer or Ivanti's workspace analysis. The problem isn't tied to any specific RDS server or file size. Any suggestions on how to further troubleshoot this issue?

Have you checked if Windows Defender is scanning network shares? Sometimes, aggressive security settings on antivirus programs can cause issues like this. It might be worth taking a look at that setting to see if it's affecting Excel's ability to save files.

We actually have an agent running, but it's not Windows Defender. I'm not sure if that could play a role, but I'll definitely look into it!

One thing to try is resetting that user's Excel and Office settings to default. Also, consider renaming their user profile folder in C:Users and updating the registry key. This will force the system to create a new profile when they log back in. Have you tried this yet? Let me know if the issue persists after that!

Thanks for the suggestion! The helpdesk managed to reset the profile through Ivanti, which worked for a couple of days, but then the problem returned. Even after analyzing the workspace session, nothing suspicious turned up. It seems like there's no clear reason for the crashes.
