Troubleshooting My Fiber Internet Connection Issues

I came home to find that my internet isn't working. The Google Fiber jack appears to be functioning correctly, and support confirmed it's operational. However, my router has a red LED blinking under the LAN symbol. I've tried power cycling all devices and even bought a new router from Best Buy, but the issue persists. I swapped out the ethernet cables between the jack and the router without any luck. Interestingly, I can still connect to the Wi-Fi and control smart devices like my lights, but I can't access the internet itself. Unfortunately, the earliest a technician can come out is next week, so I'm looking for any advice on what to do in the meantime. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like the issue might be related to your modem rather than the router. Since the router seems to let you connect to Wi-Fi, it's likely working fine. The blinking red LED could mean there's a communication problem between the modem and the router. You might need to check your modem configuration or look for any issues with your fiber jack.

When you say 'modem', are you referring to the fiber jack? If so, make sure that connections are secure and that there are no visible damages. Somtimes, the issue may not be apparent right away. Also, it'd be good to see if the light indicators on the fiber jack provide any clues.
