I just built a new PC using the 5080 Founder's Edition graphics card, but I'm not getting any output to my display. To troubleshoot, I connected my monitor to the motherboard's HDMI port thanks to the 9800x3d having an integrated GPU. I'm concerned that the 12V HPWR cable isn't fully connected; I had to apply a lot of pressure to try and push it in, but it still seems like it won't slot in completely. I have the 12V HPWR cable that came with my NZXT C1000 ATX3.1 power supply. Can I use the adapter that came with the Founder's Edition, which converts 12V HPWR to 3 8-pin connections? Is it safe to connect those 8-pins into the PCIe slots on my NZXT C1000? I'm just hoping my GPU isn't dead.

If you see any gap between the 12V HPWR connector and the GPU, it’s definitely not connected properly. The sense pins are crucial and need to be fully seated for the GPU to work at all. Make sure everything is aligned correctly and there's no damage to the pins. If it's plugged in properly on both the GPU and PSU sides, you should be good. Using the NVIDIA PCIe to 12V adapter that came with your 5080 is fine for troubleshooting. If that works, it suggests the issue is with your 12V HPWR cable and not the GPU itself.
Thanks for the tip! I tried the adapter and it worked, but I guess I'll have to stick with it since I don't want to risk damaging it with the NZXT cable.
