Hey everyone! I'm currently a college student studying Computer Science and Math. I've been taking some awesome courses on boot.dev that have helped me gain practical experience. Recently, they introduced a backend development path where I can choose to learn either Typescript or Golang. I'm curious about which one I should dive into first. I might eventually learn the other one too, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on this now. I'm not aiming to become a pro programmer right away, but I want to start doing internships and building a portfolio, which I've heard is key for entering the industry. I'm leaning toward Typescript since it seems more relevant for web development, but honestly, I find it a bit boring. I know web programming is common in job descriptions, but I'm also intrigued by other areas. Any advice would be appreciated!

Honestly, either language is a good choice. Beginners often worry too much about picking the 'right' language. If you’re comfortable with any programming language and have good learning skills, you can pick up another fairly easily. I suggest trying a basic intro to both Typescript and Golang first to see which one clicks with you more.
This makes perfect sense! For context, I'd taken four programming classes excluding an intro course. I learned some theory and structure but didn't really feel like I gained practical skills. That's why I'm enjoying boot.dev; their guided projects let me build actual software, which feels way more useful than just theory!
