Upgrading from Nvidia to AMD: What Steps Should I Follow?

I'm making the switch from my Nvidia 3070 Ti to an AMD 9070 and would love some guidance on how to do it right. I've heard about using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) before the installation, but I need more detailed steps to ensure a smooth upgrade. Can anyone provide a comprehensive process or important tips beyond just using DDU?

Honestly, using DDU is the most important step. I just swapped my 4070 Super for a 9070 XT without even uninstalling the old drivers first! But if you want a detailed process, just boot into safe mode, run DDU as an admin, select your GPU manufacturer, and let it do its magic. It really is as straightforward as it sounds.

Also, here's a quick video that shows how to use DDU: [DDU Tutorial](https://youtu.be/F8OLhUAPDq0?si=NYr8mcduvIwKKDwH). It’s a bit outdated, but it covers the main steps. Don’t skip the part where you switch back to your GPU after the driver install!

I recommend checking out the guide on how to use DDU. You basically download it from guru3d.net, boot up into safe mode, and run DDU as an admin to uninstall your graphics drivers. After that, boot back into normal mode and install the new AMD drivers. Oh, and yes, it's good practice to connect your monitor to the motherboard instead of the GPU while doing this.
