Upgrading from RTX 2070 to RTX 5060ti: What’s the Gaming Performance Boost?

I have a 2019 MSI Armor RTX 2070 with 8GB of memory and I'm planning to upgrade to an Asus Prime RTX 5060ti with 16GB for about 508€ / $591. I'm planning to stick with my current 8-pin connector, so I'm not looking at higher-powered cards like the 5070. Here are my specs: Ryzen 7 5700x3D, Crosshair VII Hero WiFi, RM1000x PSU, Trident Z 32GB (2x16GB) at 3200Mhz, and I use an AOC 1080p 144Hz monitor. What kind of performance improvement can I expect for gaming with this upgrade? Just to note, I'm not interested in the 9060xt. Thanks!

Upgrading from a 2070 to a 5060ti will definitely give you a noticeable boost in performance for gaming. The 5060ti should handle games much better and give you more headroom for higher settings or better frame rates. Just keep in mind, if you’re gaming at 1080p, some of that potential might not be fully utilized, but you'll still see improvements overall. Consider looking into a higher resolution monitor down the line if you're thinking of maximizing your setup's potential!

Honestly, I think you're on the right track with sticking to the 5060ti. It's a solid upgrade from the 2070, especially for 1080p gaming. However, since you have a powerful PSU, you might want to think about the options available for higher-powered cards if you ever want to upgrade in the future. Just be sure the cooling in your case can handle it!

I appreciate the advice! Right now, sticking with the 8-pin just feels safer to me. I’ve heard too many stories about the new GPU connectors causing issues.
