Upgrading My 10-Year-Old PC: Need Advice on Components

I'm finally ready to retire my old PC that's been running for a decade with a GTX 960. I'm looking to build a new setup and would love some input on a few things:

1. What type of cable should I use to connect my GPU? I've come across concerns about the 12VHPWR cables melting.
2. I'm considering either the Phantom Spirit, Phantom Spirit SE, Peerless Assassin, or Peerless Assassin SE. What would you recommend?
3. Is it worth getting an SSD with a heatsink? Will it fit with my motherboard?
4. The RAM situation is a bit tricky right now. Should I go for slower speed with higher latency instead?
5. Any other suggestions or recommendations?

For your GPU connection, make sure to use the cable that comes with your power supply since it should work best. Just ensure it fits well with your motherboard setup.

As for the SSD, most motherboards come with built-in heatsinks, so you probably won't need another one unless you're planning for heavy performance.

Does the GPU usually come with its own cable? Should I stick with that or can I use the one from the power supply?
