I've been using the same PC since 2014 and I'm finally ready to upgrade! My current specs include an i7-4790K, GTX 1070, and 16GB of DDR3 RAM. While I've had a reliable experience, I'm now struggling with modern games like Fortnite due to frame drops and crashes. With Windows 10 support ending soon, I think it's the right time for a new build. I'm a 3D artist and don't require a full workstation since I have access to a powerful machine for work, but I want something capable of handling modern games and some creative tasks at home—namely 3D modeling, video editing, and music production. I'm also looking to future-proof my setup, so I'm willing to invest wisely. I'm unsure about my motherboard and power supply choices, and I want to make sure my cooling solution is adequate. I plan on getting a new GPU in a few months—considering either a 5070Ti or waiting for rumored upgrades. Any advice on glaring issues or improvements?

Your build looks solid! I recently upgraded my PC after 10 years as well and went with similar specs, but just a heads up—if you're relying solely on air cooling for the 9950X3D, consider a full tower case to improve airflow. Also, prioritize getting an ATX 3.1 power supply that supports PCIe 5.0 since you're looking to keep this build for a while. The X870 motherboard will work great with the 9950X3D due to its strong VRMs, so you're on the right track!
Are you planning to transfer a lot of large files on this PC? It might influence your storage choices.
The P41 SSD is definitely a good choice, but if you're not moving around massive files, you might not notice a big difference in performance from other models like the Teamgroup G50. Check out some videos from PC Builder on YouTube—they have great comparisons of SSDs for different use cases. You might save some cash by going with a different SSD!

Probably not. Why do you ask?
