Upgrading My CPU: What Motherboard Do I Need?

I'm currently running an Intel Core i7-6700 and I'm looking to upgrade to an Intel Core i7-14700F. However, my current motherboard isn't compatible. Can anyone suggest what motherboard I should get for this upgrade? Also, do I need to do a clean install of Windows after the upgrade? For reference, I have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and 32GB of DDR4 memory. My current motherboard is the STGAUBRON B250DA1, which uses the Intel B250 chipset.

Are you set on the 14700F? Unless it's a great deal, there might be other CPU options worth considering. Either way, you definitely need a new motherboard. What’s your budget for the upgrade?

For your upgrade, you'll need a motherboard that supports LGA 1700, like a B660 or B760. If you want to keep using your current DDR4 RAM, make sure to get a board that supports it. Just keep in mind you'll have to swap out your motherboard entirely because the B250 won't work with the 14700F.
