Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my CPU from an i7-7700k to an i5-12600kf. Currently, I have an MSI z270 motherboard, and I need some advice on which motherboard will be suitable for Intel's 12th to potentially 14th generation processors, while still using DDR4. I'm looking for recommendations that won't break the bank. Also, I'm curious if a micro ATX motherboard would fit my needs. By the way, I'm running 2 sticks of 16GB RAM and a 3060 GPU.

I’d say check out the AsRock boards from the H610 series — they support both DDR4 and DDR5. It might be a good bet if DDR5 prices drop in the future. Plus, they’re pretty straightforward when it comes to swapping out RAM!

Would a micro ATX board work well for this setup? I'm not really familiar with them.
