Upgrading My GPU: Should I Go for the 9070XT or Wait for the 5080?

Hey everyone! I'm currently reconfiguring my setup and I've got a 6900XT that's starting to show its age in games. I'm wondering if the 9070XT OC would be sufficient for running my G9 screen with good performance, or if I should splash out on the 5080 instead. The price tag for the 5080 has me hesitating, though. What do you all think? Thanks for your insights!

The 5080 definitely outperforms the 9070XT, but it does come at a premium. If you're looking for something more affordable, the 5070Ti is direct competition for the 9070XT. It offers about a 5-10% better performance and includes DLSS support which is a nice bonus!

I read that with the latest update, the 9070XT might actually surpass the 5070Ti in some games.

What resolution is your G9 screen? Samsung has a range of monitors that fall under the G9 name, so knowing that might help narrow down the best graphics card for you.

It's a DWQHD 5120 x 1440 at 240Hz!

Honestly, if you can hold off, I'd say stick with either the 5080 or 5090. They're both going to give you a better experience than the 9070XT. If you're serious about gaming and want the best, those are the way to go!

Yeah, but have you seen the pricing on the 5090? It's crazy!
