Upgrading My GTX 1060 – Looking for Budget-Friendly GPU Options

I've got an older PC that was handed down to me, and I'm trying to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 1060 3GB without breaking the bank. My budget is around $500 AUD, but it seems like I'm finding outdated parts priced similar to newer ones or options way out of my budget. I'm also planning to build a new PC in the future, so I'm looking for the best upgrade option now. Here are my current specs:

* **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (4 cores / 8 threads, 3.6 GHz base, 3.9 GHz boost)
* **GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
* **Motherboard:** Gigabyte B450M DS3H-CF (UEFI BIOS)
* **RAM:** 16 GB
* **PSU:** Corsair 850 W

If you can stretch your budget to around $600, the RX 6800 XT with 16GB would be an amazing choice. If not, you might want to look for a used 3080 10GB, although prices can vary greatly in your area.

I’d recommend looking into a CPU upgrade too. A Ryzen 5 5600 from AliExpress could work well and help overall performance. For your GPU, an Intel Arc A580 would be solid if you can find it!

Have you considered getting a used RTX 3070? They usually go for about 300-350 AUD. Also, check if your CPU is causing any bottlenecking; it could be holding back performance a bit.
