Upgrading My HP Pavilion for Better Gaming on a Budget

I'm looking to upgrade my older HP Pavilion Desktop to get into PC gaming, especially since my PS4 isn't holding up anymore. I want to salvage some parts from my current setup to save money. Here's what I have: an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics (16 cores, speed of 4.3 GHz), 1 GB of dedicated memory for the graphics, 16GB of installed RAM (with 15.3GB usable), and 1 TB of storage. My goal is to run games like Slime Rancher 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 on medium settings without breaking the bank—ideally, I don't want to spend more than $800. Can someone give me advice on what parts I can reuse or what I need to replace? Am I being unrealistic here?

If your storage is a hard drive, consider replacing it with an SSD for better performance, but you can keep the Ryzen 7 5700G and the RAM. Just so you know, AM4 motherboards are pretty affordable, and you'll need a new cooler since HP coolers typically don't fit standard setups.

Check your power supply's wattage before anything else. If it's 650W or more, you can likely swap the case for a mid-tower one and add a decent graphics card like a 5060Ti or 9060XT. Keep in mind, HP cases often have a unique design that might limit GPU options, so make sure the new case accommodates your needs.

If you're considering more RAM, adding another stick to bring your total to 32GB could be beneficial, especially if you're hitting limits on the memory. It sounds like you're close to maxing out your integrated graphics, which could hold you back in gaming.
