Upgrading My PC on a Budget: What Should I Prioritize?

Hey everyone! I'm finally ready to upgrade my PC, which definitely needs some love, but I've been out of the game for a couple of years. I'm looking to upgrade a part at a time since I'm on a budget of around 300-400 euros. I want to maximize performance from the get-go and add components gradually.

Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Ryzen r5 1500x (OC'd to 3.65GHz)
- MoBo: MSI B350 PC-Mate
- RAM: Crucial Ballistix BL2K16G32C16U4B 3200 MHz, 32GB (2x16 running at 3200MHz)
- GPU: Sapphire NITRO+ RX580 4GB
- Storage: 2x Crucial bx500 480GB + 1 Crucial p5 plus 1TB
- Power Supply: Thermaltake Berlin 750W
- Case: Corsair carbide 300R
- Monitor: Philips 243v (24" 1080p)

I plan to upgrade to a 27" or 32" 1440p monitor soon, since my current one feels too small. I do some CAD work, but it's not extensive, and I'm fine with medium settings for gaming.

I'm considering starting with a new power supply since my current one is getting old. After that, should I get a new GPU first, then save for a CPU, motherboard, and RAM upgrade? Or would getting the best CPU that my motherboard supports — and overclocking it — be better, with a GPU following later?

I'm trying to make sure that after these upgrades, I can avoid having to upgrade again too soon — ideally within 2-3 years. Any suggestions on how to best allocate my budget would really help!

You should definitely check your motherboard's support for new CPUs, but upgrading to a Ryzen 5700X3D could be a solid start. Just make sure to update your BIOS! But the GPU upgrade is trickier; prices are all over the place, and it’s tough to find a decent one for 1440p under 300 euros. Good luck with that.

Totally with you on the GPU front. I think a 7600XT might be worth considering, even if it’s on the higher end of your budget. It should give you enough power for 1440p gaming without breaking the bank too badly.
