Upgrading RAM: Is Going to 128GB Worth It?

I'm planning to upgrade my RAM from 16GB (2x8GB) to 128GB (2x64GB) on my B550-A PRO (MS-7C65) motherboard. I've heard that this should work fine, but are there any limitations I should be aware of? Specifically, is there a MHz cap I should consider that could cause compatibility issues?

Honestly, 128GB might be overkill unless you're doing specific tasks like professional content creation or game development. Most gaming setups run perfectly with 32GB or 64GB. But if you're learning game development and want to keep things smooth, going big might save you from future upgrades.

Right? You can always start with a lower amount and upgrade later if you find you need more. But if you have the budget and your system can handle it, go for it!

128GB of RAM seems like a lot! But hey, it depends on what you need it for. If you're doing heavy streaming, like with Doom and heavily modded Minecraft, then I can see the appeal. Just remember to check your motherboard specs to find out if it supports that much RAM without any MHz restrictions.

Totally get it! You want to future-proof your setup since games keep getting more demanding. Just make sure your motherboard can handle all that power first!
