I've recently upgraded my PC to Windows 11 due to the end of support for the previous OS, and now I'm facing a frustrating issue with my USB keyboard and mouse not working at the login screen after booting. I use a USB KVM switch to share my peripherals between two PCs—a work PC and my personal one. Both devices are Logitech and connected through the switch, which is plugged into the back of my personal PC.
Typically, when I boot up, everything works fine, but since the upgrade, the peripherals go dark after the initial post and stay unresponsive until I either unplug them or toggle the KVM switch to my other PC and back again. I've checked that the peripherals work fine in BIOS; they light up during boot but then fail to power on after loading Windows. I've tried numerous solutions like turning off USB power management, adjusting fast boot settings, and reinstalling drivers to no avail. A fresh reinstall of Windows 11 is my last resort, so I'm looking for any other potential solutions or insights that might help!

I had a similar problem until I installed a Female Back panel to Motherboard 9pin cable with a PCI bracket. You can find them online. Just make sure you get one that matches your motherboard pins. It might be worth a shot!
This might sound odd, but some people have noticed that toggling USB support settings in the BIOS can help. Make sure 'Legacy USB Support' is enabled, and if you've already tried disabling it, switch it back and see if that makes a difference.
Have you tried uninstalling both the keyboard and mouse in Device Manager and then rebooting your PC? That sometimes can reset the driver issues causing problems after an upgrade.
Yeah, I gave that a try, but it didn't resolve the issue unfortunately.

Hmm, could it really be the motherboard that’s the issue? I've been using this setup for years without problems on Windows 10, and this just started happening after the Windows 11 upgrade.
