Using a Laptop as a Wireless Interface for My Desktop PC

I'm looking for a way to use my desktop PC wirelessly from different spots around my house, like the kitchen or my bed. I have a MacBook Air M1 and I'm considering it as a wireless interface. I'm curious if this setup would work well, especially regarding latency issues. I plan to use low latency software like Moonlight or Parsec to manage the keyboard, mouse, and display. Also, I'll be running Gnu/Linux on the PC.

I actually do this all the time! Moonlight works really well for me, even when I'm outside. If you have a good network and a solid setup at home, it should work fine. I just use a lightweight laptop with a nice screen.

Have you thought about using Microsoft Remote Desktop? Just a heads up, you'd need Windows Pro on your PC to make it work. And remember, a 'PC' typically refers to a personal computer, so it could include Macs too!

From what I've heard, the M1 may not perform that great with Moonlight. I'm not sure if any updates improved it, but it might be worth checking out other options too.
