Web Browsers and Minecraft Launcher Keep Crashing—What Now?

I've been having a frustrating issue where my default web browser opens when I log into my account, but it only stays open for less than a minute. After that, every time I try to open any web browser, it closes immediately without fully launching. I've noticed that the Minecraft launcher has the same problem. However, I can still use Steam and play games purchased through it. I attempted a system restore, but I don't think I selected an early enough point, so I can only go back to yesterday. Additionally, when I tried to reset my PC, the process almost completed but then it said it encountered an error. I'm at a loss for what to do next. The last software I downloaded was the EA app to play Jedi Survivor, about four days before this problem started.

This definitely sounds a lot like a malware issue. I'd recommend doing a full clean install of Windows 11 to get rid of any potential threats. Here’s a link with the instructions: [rtech.support/windows](https://rtech.support/windows/). Just make sure to back up your data first!

It sounds like you might need to reset your PC again, especially since the first attempt threw an error. If you got a specific error message, look that up—it can provide clues. You mentioned downloading something right before this started; can you tell us more about what that was? If it was something like cracked software, that could be problematic. Also, after a browser crashes, check the event viewer to see if it gives you any reasons for the crash; you might be running low on memory or have another underlying issue. If all else fails, backing up your data and doing a clean Windows install could be your best option.
