Weird Grey Rectangle Appears When Using Back Tap to Lock My iPhone

I know this might sound a bit niche, but it's really bothering me. When I use the back tap feature on my iPhone to lock the screen, a grey translucent rectangle appears for a second when I turn it back on. It doesn't happen when I power off the phone with the button, though. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be appreciated!

I don't think you can actually power off the phone via the back tap. Did you mean you’re using it to lock the screen? Also, what iOS version do you have?

Yeah, sorry for the confusion! I meant to say lock screen. I’m on the latest iOS, and it's just weird that a white box shows up and makes the time look distorted for a moment, but it’s all normal otherwise.
