What Are Good Cloud Backup Solutions for Microsoft 365 and Synology NAS?

I'm searching for a reliable cloud backup solution for a couple of my customers who use Microsoft 365 and have a Synology NAS setup. Their teams consist of 5 to 20 users, and I'd like to back up both the MS365 data and the Synology NAS to a cloud or offsite location. I'm particularly interested in solutions that offer immutable backups for added safety. Ideally, the company I choose should be based in Europe. Any recommendations?

Synology has its own cloud backup solution called C2 that integrates well with their NAS devices. They provide backup options for Microsoft 365 too! Storage is available in both Frankfurt and Seattle, which should align with your EU preference.

When it comes to backing up MS365 and Synology NAS, it's important to approach it as two separate tasks. For MS365, Spanning and Carbonite are top choices, especially for your customer sizes. If you already have Veeam set up, that’s your easiest route! For the NAS, Synology's built-in Hyper Backup works wonders for backing up everything, including permissions, but keep in mind the proprietary format can be limiting in case of a NAS failure.

Absolutely! Synology’s Hyper Backup does ensure you back up all necessary data, but just remember that if that NAS fails, you’ll need a Synology device to restore your data, unlike other systems where files can be easily transferred.

If you're looking for something based in Europe, HorizonIQ is worth checking out. They use Veeam and Zerto for backup solutions, supporting MS365 as well as Synology NAS. They have data centers in the UK and the Netherlands, which is great for EU regulations. Plus, they offer immutable backup options too!
