What Are Safe Temperature Levels for an i5 8500?

I recently picked up an OptiPlex 5060 SFF that has an i5 8500 processor. While playing TF2, I'm noticing temperatures between 81-87°C, even when just on the home screen or during matches. Should I be worried about these temperature readings, or is this typical for this setup? I'm also uncertain about whether the thermal paste was replaced previously, and I'm currently using the stock cooler.

If you haven't replaced the thermal paste yet, that's definitely something to consider. Those temps sound pretty high, especially for just playing TF2. Given that the CPU is from 2018, the original thermal paste probably isn't in great shape anymore. A better cooler could really help; Noctua is a solid brand, but make sure you check the space in your case to avoid any issues. Also, definitely reapply that thermal paste when you can!

Thanks for the advice! Would I need a separate power supply for the new cooler? I'm trying to keep it budget-friendly, so any cheaper suggestions would be great!
