What are some alternatives to 2FA for laptops and desktops?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for alternatives to two-factor authentication (2FA) for my laptop. Right now, I rely on my phone to receive login codes, and while it's manageable for occasional use, it can get tedious when I'm constantly entering codes for different sites. I'm wondering if there's a browser extension or some method that could automate this process, similar to how password autofill works. Any recommendations on how to streamline 2FA for desktop use? Thanks!

I found a workaround by using Google Authenticator on my Android and then running an Android emulator like BlueStacks on my laptop, which allows me to access the app there.

Have you tried checking if your password manager has a built-in feature for this? Some browsers may also support plugins that can help, but you'll need to reconnect them with your MFA secret, like the QR code you first got. Be cautious, though!

You might want to consider using a YubiKey for 2FA. It's a hardware solution that allows you to log in securely without having to deal with codes manually.

Just keep in mind that looking for shortcuts might weaken your account security. Is it really that much of a hassle to press a button on your phone during logins?

You could try using KeePassXC. It does take some setup, but it supports various types of 2FA, including one-time codes, and has an autofill feature.
