Hi everyone! I'm a computer science major, but I haven't started any CS classes yet at my college. To get a head start, I've been taking Free Code Camp courses and I'm currently on the HTML section. I'm looking for beginner-friendly projects I can work on that would not only help me practice but also enhance my portfolio. Any suggestions?

When I started out, I made a Greasemonkey script, which is a fun way to learn while creating something useful. You could also explore making browser extensions! They can be practical and help improve your skills without necessarily needing to focus on a portfolio. However, if portfolio work is your goal, diving into React might be a great path too!
If you want to build something engaging, try creating a project based on your personal interests. For example, if you play an instrument, you could develop an app that identifies what notes are in different chords. Or, if gaming is your thing, consider making a simple text-based game or a more complex 3D game, depending on how far along you feel in your skills. Working on projects you enjoy can really motivate you and make the learning process fun!
If you're ever stuck on what to build, remember that you don't always need a grand idea. Sometimes simple things like improving your own daily tasks or automating repetitive actions can lead to enjoyable projects. Plus, these kinds of projects can always be tweaked and expanded as your skills grow!
