Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building my own PC and I'm looking for a solid budget CPU and GPU combo that won't break the bank. I also want something that will last me a few years without needing an upgrade. My last setup had an i3 processor and a GTX 1060, which worked fine until it... well, caught fire. So I'm hoping to avoid any issues this time! Any recommendations?

I just picked up a CPU and motherboard combo with a decent CPU on the AM5 platform. I also got a Radeon 6800xt, but for more longevity, I'd recommend looking for a newer GPU. It's worth considering a 40 series from Nvidia, but maybe steer clear of the 4060 and go for something else instead. The 7800xt from AMD could also be a good option!
It’s tough to suggest specific parts without knowing what you want from your PC. Could you clarify what type of gaming or tasks you want to do?
I'm not looking for super high frame rates or ultra settings. Just something that can handle current and upcoming AAA games smoothly.
What’s your max budget for this build?
I’m thinking around $1,500 CAD.
I'm leaning more towards Nvidia since I'm more familiar with it. Why do you suggest avoiding the 4060?
