Hey everyone! I'm looking to move away from GitHub for my projects and company due to some recent changes in their pricing and features. While I know that Codeberg mainly caters to open-source projects, I'm not interested in self-hosted solutions either. Can anyone recommend some good alternatives?

If you're avoiding self-hosted, I'd mostly recommend GitLab. It offers a lot of features similar to GitHub, and it might suit your needs. Just curious, what aspects of GitHub are bothering you? I thought the recent changes should be a win for users like you!
Definitely consider Codeberg if you're working on open-source stuff. But if you're looking for something along the lines of GitHub—GitLab is probably your best bet.
Not really a common choice, but Azure DevOps could work. Just a heads up, though, it's been suggested that it might be phased out for new clients in favor of GitHub Enterprise.
Don't forget about CI/CD tools! If you need alternatives for GitHub Actions specifically, you can check out Buildkite. I've been using them since 2022 and they really simplify the process compared to some other tools I’ve tried.
I like that idea! Still, I’d prefer to steer clear of Jenkins and other solutions that have started to feel messy over time.
GitLab is a solid choice. I've been using it in production for my healthcare startup since 2019, and it's been great. We opted for GitLab Ultimate and self-host it on Kubernetes, which works really well for us!
That's awesome! But how does its pricing stack up as projects get larger?
Sounds like a Microsoft swap that’s full of problems still! Maybe best to look for something more independent.
