What Are Some Good Cable Management Tips for Remote Desktops?

We're dealing with a lot of remote desktops here, specifically three 10-port Cisco switches managing nine desktops each. These are mainly Lenovo P360 Tiny and P360 Ultra SFF models, and while they don't get moved around often, it does happen. The main issue is the cable mess caused by their bulky power bricks and the necessary Ethernet connections. We're not looking for rack-mount solutions since they're not practical for us. I'm curious if anyone has strategies for managing the cable chaos or any general tips to help keep things organized.

Have you considered using virtualization? If high-end video processing isn’t a requirement, moving to virtual machines can save a lot of physical space and reduce cable clutter. Plus, switching to a decent host machine can significantly cut down on the heat and power issues.

Virtual machines could definitely simplify things! However, if you're still sticking with physical desktops, consider checking out some cable management carts designed specifically for setups like yours.

I'd be curious why you haven't switched to VMs yet? I mean, with everything going digital, it could save you a lot in the long run!

Using hook & loop straps along with a good label maker can work wonders. When setting up the cables, think ahead about how you might need to remove devices or access the connections later. This foresight can really help maintain organization and prevent a total cable disaster down the line.
