I'm managing IT for about 200 people as a one-person IT shop and it's starting to feel overwhelming using just email, texts, and phone calls to track issues. I don't think I get enough requests to spend a ton of money on a ticketing system yet. Can anyone suggest some budget-friendly, preferably free options for IT ticket management? Any guidance on where to look would be appreciated since I've never used one before!

Don't overlook using Microsoft 365's SharePoint if you're already subscribed. You can create a custom list alongside Power Automate for tracking IT requests, and it works well on mobile too! It's a neat solution without spending extra!
osTicket is a solid open-source option that many users love. It's free and fairly user-friendly. Just keep in mind, it might need some initial setup to get it running smoothly. But once it's up, you'll find it really streamlines your support requests!
Great choice! I had a good experience with it too.
Have you checked out Zammad? It's an open-source solution too, based out of Germany, and it’s quite versatile with a clean interface. Setup is a breeze and it can handle multiple channels, which might be handy!
You might also want to consider Spiceworks. It’s been my go-to for years, especially since it's free for small teams. Plus, it has a community feature that can help with common queries!
I've used Spiceworks too! It’s fantastic as a solo operator, just make sure you’re comfortable with its feature limitations.
If you are looking for something simple, Freshdesk has a free plan for a couple of users which you might find useful while you’re still solo! It's quite intuitive and easy to set up, but if you start adding more people, you might need to look into paid plans later on.
Totally agree! It was super easy for my needs; I set it up in no time.
Yeah, I've heard good things! Just be sure to tweak the interface a bit for better mobile usability.
