I'm looking for some recommendations on chairs that are perfect for long coding sessions in my small home office. I know many people suggest Herman Miller, but I'm hoping to find options that are more budget-friendly. My last chair was a foam one that unfortunately came with a wine stain and had a short warranty of only six months. Comfort is key since I'll be spending hours sitting down, so what have you found to be the best chairs for extended coding sessions? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You might want to consider used Herman Miller Aeron's for a decent price. I found mine for about $450, and they last forever! Even after years of heavy use, they're still holding up well.
I was using a folding chair from a garage sale and thought it was fine until I stood up and heard my spine pop like bubble wrap. Definitely time for an upgrade!
I've been in the same boat. I used my dining chairs for work, and getting up after that was a struggle!
LMAO, that just convinced me to upgrade my chair too!
I've had an Autonomous ErgoChair Pro for over 5 years and I love it! I use it every day and have no complaints or back pain at all. It has so many adjustments to make it comfortable for long-term use, and it's been really sturdy for me!
Did you get the mesh or foam seat version?
I switched from a gaming chair to the ErgoChair Pro and my back feels so much better. It's super adjustable. I can sit in it for 10+ hours without any discomfort.
The Steelcase Gesture is another good investment. It’s comfortable for long hours, and you can find refurbished ones from Crandall Office. Might be on the pricier side, but for what we put our bodies through, it’s worth it!
So true! If you’re spending all day at your desk, a good chair is definitely necessary.
Check out a refurbished Steelcase Leap V2. I bought one from Crandall Office with new padding and parts, and it's like brand new. Even my ergonomist dad highly recommended it!
It's great if you're of average height, but watch out if you’re taller; it might not be as comfortable for you!
I second this! I got a refurb from BYOD and love it too.
Good to know! But will it fit in my sedan? Can you take it apart easily?
