I'm looking for tools that can automatically scan and diagram cloud infrastructure across platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure. I've come across CloudCraft from Datadog, but it currently only supports AWS and its auto-diagramming feature is still in beta. I'm contemplating building a custom solution, but I'm curious if there are inherent technical limitations that make it difficult to create multi-cloud diagramming tools or if I'm just missing some existing options. Any suggestions?

The challenge really lies in figuring out what’s important to deliver for each project. A lot of AWS or Azure accounts run multiple applications, and without proper tagging, isolating them can be tough. Cloudcraft is solid, but I wish there was a tool that could take a tag and generate a mermaid markdown diagram, making it easier to manage updates in version control.
You might want to check out a process I found that can help you generate AWS diagrams using Ilograph. It's free and gets you partway there. Keep in mind though, diagramming is more of an art than a science. You often need a human touch to decide what should be included in each view. There's no universal 'correct' diagram for a system, and there’s a bit of subjectivity involved in the process.
