I'm curious if anyone has tried out note-taking apps like Otter.ai or Copilot for meetings. How has your experience been with these tools? Also, how well do they work for in-person meetings? Can they recognize who is speaking when the meeting isn't virtual?

I've mainly used Copilot in my work, and I absolutely love it! The meeting recaps and follow-up tasks they generate are on point. Plus, it attaches everyone's name to tasks and summaries, which makes it super organized.
We've found Fireflies.ai to recognize different speakers even in face-to-face meetings, which is rare. The app's free version allows for unlimited recordings, though the AI-generated summaries are somewhat limited.
Honestly, I just stick to the good old pen and paper method. It works for me without all the hassle of sending invites or links to join afterwards.
My team tested out several apps like Otter, Fireflies, and Teams Premium before settling on Teams Premium. It totally knows who is speaking, while Otter struggled with that. Plus, no annoying bots joined our meetings with Teams. Fireflies was great for our IT department since they often have vendor meetings and it's flexible across platforms. However, I still haven't seen an app that accurately identifies speakers in a regular recording setup.
In my opinion, Copilot is by far the best AI tool for quickly getting meeting content documented. If your organization has a lot of meetings, your team will really appreciate using it.

Does Copilot only work for Teams meetings? Can it handle other platforms like Zoom or Webex?
