What are the best alternatives to the 5700X3D since it’s out of stock?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my CPU for better gaming performance, especially for demanding titles like PoE2 and some Paradox games. Currently, I'm using an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with a Radeon RX 6700 XT and 16GB of DDR4 RAM on an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX II motherboard. I had my eye on the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, but I found out it's been discontinued and is really hard to find. I've considered getting the normal 5700X instead, which seems to be around 135€. Is that a good upgrade, or are there other better options available that won't require a full switch to AM5? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The 5700X or 5800X are solid upgrades over the 3600. If you can snag a 5700X for under 130€, that's a decent deal. You're looking at a performance boost that's worth it, especially if you're facing CPU bottlenecks in gaming!

True, but aren't they reaching end-of-life soon? Might want to keep that in mind.

For a bit of a boost, consider a 5000 series chip. The 5700X is a good pick for its price point, but if you're thinking longer-term, AM5 might be worth it. Just keep an eye on prices, since they fluctuate a lot.

Uh, actually, AMD stopped making the 5700X3D back in August. So it's not really a component shortage; it's just that it's EoL. You might just want to focus on the current options instead.

Yeah, I realize that now! Thanks for the clarification.

I'd say getting a 5800X would also be a great option, it's still a strong performer coming from a 3600. Another angle is to hold out for the 5500X3D when it releases in your area, depending on how long you can wait.

I thought the 5500X3D was exclusive to South America?

If you're CPU limited in gaming, going for the 5700X is definitely a step up. There aren't many alternatives without shifting to AM5, which would be pricier.
