What Are the Best Budget GPU Options For 2026?

I'm looking to upgrade my setup since my current GPU, a 1660 Super, has become a major bottleneck. I have a Ryzen 5600X processor, 48GB of RAM, and a B550 motherboard with plenty of storage. Ideally, I'm hoping to find a budget-friendly GPU option under $400, but cheaper would be better.

I'm considering cards like the 3060, but I worry they might become outdated quickly. I also want to experiment with things like particle simulations and ML projects for school, so I'd prefer something with decent tensor cores and VRAM. Gaming isn't my primary concern, but I'd like a card that handles both tasks well. What GPUs should I be looking for, especially on places like eBay? Are Intel cards a good option, or should I stick with AMD options like the 6700 XT?

If you're open to looking at new options, the 7700 XT or a 9060 XT could be solid picks. They're both excellent for 1440p gaming and should fall within your budget. Not to mention, they handle non-ray tracing tasks really well!

In the US, with $400, you might snag a 7800 XT or a used 4070. Facebook Marketplace can be a goldmine for deals, so it's worth checking there!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look at Facebook Marketplace—I've found a couple of gems there.

If you can find a used 4070 Super within your budget, that would be a great choice. They offer solid performance for gaming and other compute tasks! Just keep an eye out for reasonable prices.

Wow, those 4070 Super cards tend to cost a lot! I'm concerned it'd be more than what I paid for my entire setup.
