What are the best budget upgrades for my PC?

I'm looking to upgrade my gaming PC on a budget since I haven't been playing a lot lately. Here are my current specs: AsRock B450 Pro4 motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, AMD Radeon RX 6600 GPU, and 16GB DDR4 RAM. I recently bought Hogwarts: Legacy, but it's not running smoothly, and I'm also eager to play Dune: Awakening, which I'm worried won't perform well either. Most of my gaming is with PUBG, and I'm hoping to reduce lag during gameplay. Any suggestions or thoughts on what I should prioritize for upgrades?

While many might jump straight to suggesting a GPU upgrade, I think a CPU upgrade could really enhance your experience, especially for PUBG. A stronger CPU can help manage game performance more effectively, especially with the games you mentioned.

Yeah, I would agree! In some cases, the CPU bottlenecking can impact game performance, especially in open-world games like Hogwarts.

Thanks! I'm not very tech-savvy, so I appreciate the advice. Would upgrading the CPU specifically help with Hogwarts and Dune too?

It sounds like your specific needs will guide your best upgrade path. Your motherboard and CPU might be good candidates for an upgrade, but with your GPU's 12GB of VRAM, it should handle 1080p pretty decently. Just keep in mind that significant performance improvements will likely require larger investments.

I just want stable FPS in games like Dune and Hogwarts without it looking like a mess. Right now, they barely run on low settings.
