I'm currently using a 4070 Super with a 13th Gen Intel i5-13400F and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I was thinking about upgrading to an AMD 9800X3D and moving to DDR5, but the prices are a bit too steep for me right now. What are some worthwhile upgrade options available for the LGA 1700 socket?

Without a clear budget in mind, it's tough to give specific advice. But if you're looking for the best drop-in upgrade for LGA 1700, I'd recommend the i9-13900K or i9-14900K, which run around $500+. These will give you a noticeable jump in performance compared to the i5-13400F. If you're aiming lower, the i7-13700K or i7-14700K are about $350 and will provide a decent upgrade as well. I wouldn't recommend the i5-13600K or i5-14600K since they aren't significantly better than what you have. You might also want to check if you have a Microcenter nearby; I've seen some bundles that could make upgrading worthwhile!

I'm based in Spain, so no Microcenter for me. With prices around 350 euros, would jumping to the i7-14700K be worth it, or should I just go for the i9-14900K?

The highest you can go is the Intel i9-14900K. There were some heat issues initially, but those should have been resolved with the latest BIOS updates. I've personally had a good experience with my i9-13900K after the fix.

Honestly, your setup sounds solid as it is. If I were you, I'd consider just waiting and saving up a bit more. The performance boost from upgrading your CPU right now might not be worth the cost.

I've got a similar setup with an i5-14600K paired with a 9060 XT, and I have to say this CPU performs excellently! If you want more power, it's definitely worth considering.

I’m curious – are there any games where your current i5-13400F and DDR4 setup is actually holding you back? If not, you might not need to upgrade just yet.
