I'm looking to upgrade my dad's old PC which is currently running a 5800X3D and a 3080. This setup is way more powerful than he needs since he mainly just browses the internet and uses basic office software. I want to keep things simple and stay within the AM4 platform for the swap. Could anyone suggest a good CPU with integrated graphics that would be suitable for his needs? Ideally, I'd also like to keep the power consumption low. Appreciate any advice!

The 5600G should be more than sufficient for your dad’s needs.
If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, the Athlon 3000G is likely the cheapest new option available—if your motherboard supports it, of course.
I'd suggest going with the 5700G. It allows for a straightforward swap since you'll only need to replace the CPU and GPU. It should handle Netflix and basic tasks like a champ! If the 5700G isn't available, the 5600G is a good alternative that draws minimal power as well.
I was considering the 5700G too! Can you clarify what you mean by "swap everything"? Can't I just downgrade to an older 3000 chip to save some cash?

There’s often not much reason to pick the 5700G over the 5600G. For basic office use and web browsing, those extra two cores won't make a significant difference, and you won't see enough GPU performance gain in everyday scenarios.
