Hey everyone! I've been out of the hardware game since I built my desktop in high school. I've upgraded my CPU from an Athlon 860k to an i7 11700k and possibly swapped out the RAM and storage a few years back. However, I'm still using the Radeon R9 280x GPU from the start, and it's really starting to hold me back. I'm looking to play Elden Ring smoothly at 1080p and I'm considering spending about $500 to upgrade my GPU. Right now, I'm eyeing the RX 7600, which is priced around $400. Does this sound like a good choice? Are there any other upgrades I should prioritize?

Yeah, skip the 7600 or 7600XT. They've been outclassed by the 9060 XT, which is the only solid option under $400 for gaming these days. Definitely go for that instead!
If you're considering the 9060 XT 16GB, it should work perfectly with your existing setup. You've got a solid i7 CPU and enough RAM, so switching GPUs shouldn't be a problem at all.
Thanks for confirming! That gives me more confidence in my upgrade decision.
Honestly, I think the RX 7600 is not a great deal right now. For around the same price, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is a much better choice and would be far more powerful for gaming. It's worth checking out the benchmarks before you decide!
Thanks for the quick feedback! I appreciate the heads-up about the 9060 XT.
