What are the best lightweight browsers for Linux on low-spec hardware?

Hey everyone, I've recently made the switch to Linux, specifically Zorin OS Core, and I'm really enjoying the experience! It feels a lot snappier and visually appealing compared to Windows. My laptop specs are pretty modest: an Intel Celeron N4020 CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and SSD storage. Unfortunately, everything is non-upgradeable.

While the OS runs fine, I've been struggling with web browsing. Chrome is quite slow and stutters even after I enabled hardware acceleration. Firefox and its variants are a bit better but still don't match the smoothness I experienced with Edge on Windows. I'm looking for some recommendations on lightweight browsers that might work better on my system. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I’ve been using Floorp on my Linux setup, and it’s been a great experience for me. You might want to give it a try and see how it works for your system!

Firefox is still a solid choice for lower-memory systems. You can tweak it to help it run smoother with limited RAM. There are also some great optimization tips online that can help make it more efficient.

Yeah, Firefox has been the best performer so far for me. I’ll look into those tweaks!

Have you considered trying Edge on Linux? I know it worked well for you on Windows, and there's a Linux version available that might be worth testing out.

I hadn’t tried it yet because I heard mixed reviews, but I might give it a chance now!

4GB of RAM can really hold you back with modern browsers. If you're looking for something lightweight, you might want to try Falkon. It's designed to consume fewer resources, but just be cautious as it might not work perfectly with all websites. Also, consider looking into zram; that could help improve performance in some scenarios.

Thank you! I hadn't heard of Falkon before but I’ll definitely give it a shot.
